FUHSD Staff Dodgeball Tournament
Posted by President on November 1, 2006.
If you didn't already know, Homestead FBLA is hosting the 1st Annual FUHSD Staff Dodgeball Tournament this Thursday, November 2nd in Homestead's big gym. Doors open for the event at 6:00 PM and the first game starts at precisely 6:30 PM. (Opening ceremonies start at 6:20 PM.)

If you're unsure right now whether you will attend this event, I strongly urge you to come! Tickets are only $5 and all proceeds will go to the Sunnyvale Public Library's Library of the Future program, which seeks to keep the library current and responsive to the community's needs.

More importantly, you'll be able to see all your favorite Homestead teachers play dodgeball against teachers and principals from Fremont, Monta Vista, Lynbrook, and Cupertino. Come cheer Homestead on and support our local community while having fun at the same time. Here are just a few of the evening's attractions:

  1. Teachers/Administrators playing: Mr. Nafrada, Mr. Wilson ("the preeminent dodgeball player of my generation"), Mr. Lee, Mr. Caruso, Louise Garces, Principal Clark, and dozens of others
  2. The HHS Equestriettes and drumline will be performing at halftime
  3. Principal's Challenge: blindfolded, one-on-one, sudden death matches between principals

Tickets will be sold on Wednesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 2nd at brunch and lunch in the quad. Look for a round table. Tickets will also be sold at the door, but if we sell out, we will not be able to guarantee you a seat.

This is one event you most definitely don't want to miss. Bring your friends and plan to have a great time!

See you on Thursday at 6:00 PM!

Sincerely,

Charles Liu
FBLA President

Competitive Event Tryouts
Posted by President on October 27, 2006.
Hi Everyone,

Events requiring tryouts, as well has tryout dates, times, and locations, have been posted on the doors of Mr. Lee's room, A207. These do not include speaking events such as Public Speaking I and II and Entrepreneurship - tryout information for those events will be posted later.

If an event you signed up for is listed as one requiring a tryout, start studying! I can tell you from experience that it pays off. For many (but not all) events, you can check out study materials from the adviser responsible for your event - check with an officer if you're not sure who that is.

Also, if you have not turned in your competitions signup form yet, please do so as soon as possible. Turn competitions forms in to Jim Danz's box in Room A207.

Let an officer or adviser know if you have any questions, and good luck!

Sincerely,

Charles

Hello Everyone,

The Homestead High School FBLA website has finally been uploaded. Though uploaded, the Officers, PwB, AE, and CS sections are incomplete. These pages are still under construction.

The new website contains this nice and polished Quick Update system which can be use to post news, upcoming events and such.

Enjoy!
