Hey guys, here's an excerpt from the first Horizon issue. Be sure to read the whole thing here! Letter from the President: Dear Members,
Welcome to the Future Business Leaders of America Club! I’m very excited to lead you in another year of spine-prickling competition, awe-inspiring projects, and hair-spinning-&-goose-bump- producing conferences!!!
As always, FBLA is dedicated to providing you with unparalleled opportunities to gain real- world business and leadership skills. And as always, whether it’s through competitions and conferences, projects, or community service events and socials, we offer numerous chances for you to meet people as fun, passionate, and motivated as you are. With that said, I have some specific goals for the upcoming year.
First, we plan to work in more business tours, so you can get a sense of just how cutting- edge the Silicon Valley is when it comes to business. I also see FBLA assuming an even greater leadership role on campus than ever before. Thus, we plan to participate in a number of school- service activities in addition to events out in the wider community. Finally, I’d like every member to become an active member! We’ll do this by showing you where your passions lie in FBLA— whether it’s in the community service, the Entrepreneurship competition, or the travel opportunities.
I’ve personally found FBLA to be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences of my high school career. It has lent unbelievable confidence to me, and I’ve benefited immensely not only from the business learning but from the friendships I’ve formed. If you’re already hooked on FBLA, I look forward to working with you this year. If you’re not, come out to our next few meetings and learn a little more about the club. This is an amazing experience you don’t want to pass up!
In the following pages, you’ll see Officer Profiles with some fun facts about our officers. We have an extraordinary officer team this year; it’s absolutely packed with brilliant and fun people. (So get to know them!) You’ll also find descriptions of our three year- long chapter projects. If you have any questions about anything, don’t hesitate to talk to us around campus or come to A207 and ask. Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Max Babicz
President
