1/24 General Meeting Summary! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Evanny Huang
Tuesday, 24 January 2012 18:21

Hey guys,

In case you weren't at our meeting today, here is what we talked about:
1. Projects (AE, CS, PwB) are announcing 3rd Speaker tryouts and preparing for culmination, so if you haven't been super active, now is a great time to start! Email each project individually to inquire about their tryout process.
2. Public Speaking 3rd Speaker Workshop on Wednesday, February 1st at 3:15pm in A207. Many past project chairs and 3rd speakers will be available to guide you in your speech-writing.

3. Business Tour at XLumena, an amazing biotechnology that develops therapeutic endoscopy products! It will be on Friday, February 24th (during break) from 10am to noon. Email Sanjana at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested.
4. Guest Speaker - Real Estate Extraordinaire Mark Easterday will be speaking this Friday, January 27th at lunch in A207. He is an EXCELLENT speaker and will teach you useful business and social skills! This is especially recommended for those of you competing in a speaking event!

5. Champions of Bay! It is not too late to take part in this Bay Section level project! Complete 5 out of 10 requirements and receive a ribbon of recognition at the Bay Section Leadership Conference at Cupertino High School. Click here for the application, which is due on Monday, January 30th by 3pm to the Presidents' box on the side of the room or directly to Jasmine and I. We highly encourage you to participate in this. (:

6. Laser Quest has been confirmed! The event will begin at 6:00 PM (arrive on time) and end at 9:30 PM. There has been an update to the entrance price: it is now $18 in advance and $20 at the door. However, this is still a good deal since it costs $27 for three games normally and we have the entire arena rented out for our club. The date for the event is still Friday, February 10th. Don't forget to bring money for dinner! Bring your money any time before the day of the event and pay to either Harrison Lin or Miranda Chen. The event will be held at the Mountain View Laser Quest (1400 N. Shoreline Blvd. Mountain View, CA 94043).

7. Competitions Study Session! Study with your teammates and past competitors on Thursday, February 2nd from 3:15-5pm in A207!
We will be taking our Yearbook Picture at our next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7th in the stadium! Please wear your FBLA t-shirt or your business suit! Those of you who do will get to sit in the front! We will be celebrating FBLA-PBL week and there will be CAKEEE!
As you can see, we have a ton of events for you to go to, so if you still need your 3 hours/activity points for Bay Section, there is no excuse not to do them! If you have any questions, please feel free to email us!
Best,
Evanny

Champions of Bay! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Evanny Huang
Saturday, 14 January 2012 19:01

Hey Amazing FBLA Members!

We are opening this FANTASTIC opportunity for you to get involved beyond just HHS FBLA but the section level as well!
Champions of Bay is a project designed for individual members to explore various aspects of FBLA by completing 5 out of the 10 items that are available. Some of the activities have already been achieved by some of you, such as attending LDI or attending a business tour and will only need a signature, while others simply ask you to write about yourself and the HHSFBLA chapter.
If you complete this project, you will be recognized at the Bay Section Leadership Conference AND receive a blue ribbon!
If you are interested in applying, here is the application link.
Simply print it out and any other documents that you must attach and turn it in by January 30th by 3pm to the President's Box at the side of the room. You can also hand it to Evanny/Jasmine in person. The packet should be neatly stapled or paper-clipped together in an envelope labeled with your name.IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE: IGNORE the Feb. 3rd deadline! We must compile EVERYONE's applications beforehand and send it in together so it is crucial that you turn it in by January 30th!
We highly encourage you to complete this prestigious project. If you have done it before in past years, you can still complete it again. If you are interested, please let me know at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so I can get an estimate of how many applications to expect. Emailing me does not bind/require you to complete the project, I would just simply like a head count.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Good luck,
Evanny
